Terms of Service
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms cover your use of the HoneyMood mobile app and this website. Using HoneyMood means you accept them. They are deliberately short.
Who we are
HoneyMood is built and operated by its independent developer ("we", "us"), whose name is shown on the HoneyMood App Store listing. Contact: hello@honeymood.app.
What HoneyMood is
An app for two people in a relationship to assign each other small real-world tasks, react to them, and keep a shared log of memories. It is entertainment and a nudge, not a productivity tool, a therapy service, or any kind of professional advice.
HoneyMood is free. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no payments of any kind. We take no card details and process no transactions. If that ever changes, these terms will change first.
What HoneyMood is not
HoneyMood, and the materials and information in it, are not intended to and do not constitute medical, psychological, or mental health advice, or diagnosis, and may not be used for such purposes. You should always consult a qualified physician or mental health professional about your specific circumstances.
Being more specific, because the app is about a relationship:
- It is not therapy, counselling, or relationship advice, and not a substitute for any of them. Nothing in it is written or reviewed by a therapist.
- It is not a safety or emergency service. Never rely on a notification, a ping, or a reply arriving. In an emergency, contact the emergency services.
- It is not a backup service. Photos and memories you add are not a substitute for keeping your own copies.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Give a real email address. You need it to recover your account, and we have no other way to reach you.
- Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
- Keep your phone locked. Anyone who can open it can see what's in the app.
- One account per person.
Linking with a partner
Linking is mutual and voluntary: one person shares an invite code, the other enters it. Once linked, each of you can see the shared content described in the Privacy Policy. Either of you can unlink at any time from within the app.
Your partner can screenshot or save anything you share with them, and deleting it from HoneyMood can't undo that.
Your content
Your missions, memories, photos and messages are yours. We claim no ownership of them and we do not use them to train anything, advertise anything, or show them to anyone other than the partner you linked with.
You grant us only the narrow permission needed to run the service: to store your content, and to display it to you and your linked partner.
You are responsible for what you put in. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to, anything unlawful, or anything depicting another person without their agreement.
Our content
The app's design, characters, texts and code belong to us. You may use it personally, but not copy or reuse it.
Using it decently
Don't use HoneyMood to harass, coerce, threaten or monitor anyone - including your partner. Also don't:
- Attempt to access another couple's data, or probe the service for weaknesses.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or build automated clients against the app.
- Upload malware, or anything designed to break the service for other people.
- Impersonate someone else.
We may suspend or remove an account that does these things.
Availability
We will try to keep HoneyMood running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, or the service as a whole. If we shut it down, we will try to give reasonable notice.
No warranty
HoneyMood is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind about it, express or implied - including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or fit for any particular purpose.
We don't promise that notifications arrive, that reminders fire on time, that data syncs promptly, or that the app works on every device or OS version.
Your relationship is yours
This is the part that matters most, so it is in plain words: what happens between you and your partner is not our responsibility. HoneyMood is a cartoon that reacts to chores. It has no insight into your relationship and makes no judgement about it.
We are not responsible for arguments, hurt feelings, decisions either of you makes, anything a partner does with what they see in the app, or how a relationship turns out. That applies however the app was used - including if someone used it in a way we tell them not to under "Using it decently".
Things outside our control
We are not liable for problems caused by things we don't run, including:
- Outages or failures at Apple, Google, or our infrastructure and email providers.
- Notifications delayed, lost, or suppressed by your device, your OS, or your network.
- Loss of data caused by your device, an uninstall, or loss of account access.
- Anything a partner does with content you chose to share with them.
- Events beyond reasonable control - outages, attacks, legal orders, acts of god.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss; lost data, lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of goodwill.
Your side of it
You are responsible for what you put into HoneyMood and what you do with it - the content you add, the missions you assign, and how you treat the person you linked with. We don't review any of it, and we can't answer for it.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings → Delete account, or as described on Delete your account. We may terminate an account that breaches these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive - your content rights, liability - do.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version, and we will let you know about significant changes. Continuing to use HoneyMood afterwards means you accept the new version.
If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest still applies.
