HoneyMood

Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

This policy explains what HoneyMood stores, why, how long it is kept, and what you can do about it.

Who is responsible

HoneyMood is operated by its independent developer, whose name is shown on the HoneyMood App Store listing. The developer is the data controller. For anything in this policy, write to privacy@honeymood.app.

What we collect

We don't sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking. The app does not access your location, contacts or microphone, and it only sees photos you pick yourself. This website doesn't use cookies.

What your partner sees

HoneyMood is built to share with one person. Once you link with a partner, they can see your display name and avatar, the missions between you, your completions, your shared memories and photos, and your pings. They never see your email address or password. Either of you can unlink at any time.

Why we are allowed to use it

Who helps us run it

We use service providers for hosting and storage, sign-in, email, push notifications and crash reporting. They process data only on our behalf. Your account data is stored in the European Union. Push notifications are delivered through Apple's and Google's networks, and emails you send us are handled by our email provider; both may involve transfers outside the EU under standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete it, including the memories and photos you shared with a partner. Some of it is removed within a few days rather than instantly. Some data is removed sooner on its own - pings and daily mood scores expire automatically. When a couple unlinks, their shared data is kept for 30 days in case they change their mind, then deleted. Copies in routine backups are removed as those backups expire.

Deleting your account

In the app: Settings → Delete account. Without the app, see Delete your account. If you signed in with Apple, deleting also disconnects HoneyMood from your Apple ID; if you signed in with Google, we also ask Google to remove HoneyMood from your account's connected apps.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to or restrict how it is used. Write to privacy@honeymood.app. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Children

HoneyMood is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Other users cannot see your data, only you and your linked partner. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will let you know about significant changes.
